Gorgeous green Moroccan stamps from 1951. The stamps show the capital of a Saadi-era column. The Saadi dynasty ruled Morocco from 1549-1659. Paired with brass filigree and deep green Indian glass. The stamps are marked “Solidarité” as part of a campaign to continue French influence in Morocco, as independence approached in 1955.
She creates remarkable jewelry from antique and vintage architectural elements, including hinges, keyholes, chandelier parts and doorbells. She searches high and low for castoff pieces of the past, then reinvent them. She frames them in classical jewelry settings, to highlight their hidden and often unintended beauty.
