Description
These earrings were amde from a single French stamp, issued in 1978 in honor of Henri Matisse’s Blue Nudes series. This series was made from cut-outs depicting nude fgures in various positions. Unable to stand at an easel after his surgery for stomach cancer, Matisse began creating art by cutting and painting sheets of paper by hand. Paired with Czech crystal.
Monique Weston Jewelry
She creates remarkable jewelry from antique and vintage architectural elements, including hinges, keyholes, chandelier parts and doorbells. She searches high and low for castoff pieces of the past, then reinvent them. She frames them in classical jewelry settings, to highlight their hidden and often unintended beauty. The result is a striking and adventurous synthesis of industrial strength and glamour.
