The three stamps showcase images by Roman artist Giuseppe Cellini. The green stamp is shown here (25 centesimi) shows Italy seated on a throne, crowned with a laurel wreath, holding up in one arm the sacred poem. It says, “Onorate l’altissimo poet (Honored be the most exalted poet).” Trimmed in ornate brass and pearl drops.
